Well we've had an interesting week to say the least. On top of everything our TV just stopped working. We spent one day without the darn thing (some may call it the dark ages) and the next day we were out looking for a new one. Well, here it is. We love it!

Not a good weekend

Well we didnt have the greatest weekend.
It started off with me at work listening to my Ipod and when trying to fix my headphones the cord broke.. I love my headphones they block out all sound around me and sound really good, and to me 30-35 dollars for headphones is alot (thats how much they are) so I was a little peeved over that but oh well the day goes on.. We got out taxes done that night... Lets just say it didnt go as well as we had hoped and leave it at that. Next a few hours later we went to Maverick to get some goodies and while standing in the candy isle I dropped my phone screen down. When I picked up my phone it had a little nick in the screen but no big deal. Later that night Jon says my phone is making a funny sound and when he brought it over there was a static sound coming out of the ear piece, I turned off my phone and the sound kept going to I took out the battery and it stopped. I called T-Mobile and have and have a new phone on the way.Well the last few days I noticed I had spots all over my stomach. I figured they were hives because I have been a little more stressed then ususal so I took some benadryl thinking it would go down and when it got worse I went to the Dr. My Dr. looked at it and said its not hives and sent me to a dermatologist. The dermatologist said I have dermatitis which is an allergic reation to something but I have no idea what because I havent started anything new or changed anything. Long story somewhat short ha ha I am now on medicine for my rash and hoping it will go away any day. Oh and I left my debit card in the ATM on Sunday ya stupid move and I cancelled my card and cant get access to my bank acct till I get my new debit card and pin number. I can go to the bank and get money but I never do that.. on the up side I cant spend any money ha ha

Diesel had surgery a few weeks ago and yesterday the stitches were removed. Dr. Blotter did an amazing job. This picture doesn't do him justice.

Well these are pictures of Diesel's first official fight. Our neighbors dog came running out of their house as someone was leaving and charged Diesel. After a few scary moments the fight had fizzled and they were able to get control of him. No harm done though. The vet said the wounds will just scab over. Hopefully Diesel and Leo will learn to play nice one day ha ha.

Today we took Diesel to Petco (where the pets go..) which he LOVES. Of course he's a huge hit every time we go there. It's like hanging with a celebrity I tell ya. Anyways we always stop and look at the clearance section for toys and found a turkey that says, "Gobble Gobble Gobble Gobble Gobble" for $4 bucks! We just had to have it. Turns out he loves his new turkey. I threw it up on the couch and it fell behind the cushions. That's why he looks confused ha ha. Here are a few pictures.

Eva gave birth to 7 healthy and beautiful English Bulldogs on Saturday, October 3rd via C-Section. There are 5 boys and 2 girls. Quite the switch from last time which was 5 girls and 2 boys. Look at the one drinking milk and stretching at the same time ha ha. THAT is why I love Bulldogs.

Ok here is the story....
So about a week ago I was driving home from work and everything was just dandy. Well we were about to drive to West Jordan and I needed gas so we stopped at the Maverick by our house and got on the freeway and started driving. My car started making a funny sound so we thought it was the air so we shut it off, well it was so hot we turned it back on and when Jon would try to push the gas down to go fast it wouldn't go it would just stay at the same speed. On our way home my car started shaking. We got home I borrowed a car from my parents because I was afraid it would break down on my way to work. The next day after work I went to the garage to start my car and nothing.... yes nothing. It finally started but would sputter and die. My thoughts were I got bad fuel from Maverick.. lovely.. the car would only stay running if you held your foot on the gas pedal the second you took it off it died.
My dad came over the next day and got it to run. I drove it over to a garage to be fixed. They called me the next day and said I had a sensor fail and not enough air was getting to my engine and it was flooding my engine, and it should be ready to go later that afternoon. They called back and said it wouldn't be ready till Monday. So today they called me and said that with the sensor they replaced my car has to be reprogramed by the Mazda dealership. Then the garage calls me back and says that mazda finished programming it but now its running funny. I called Bountiful Mazda and they guy informs me that this is a problem they have never seen before and they have the Mazda smart guys (i forgot what he called them) are looking at it.. so far what they can tell me is my engine keeps flooding because more gas is going to my engine then what is supposed to and they dont know how to fix it. and to top it all off My warranty expired and i have to pay it all myself. ahhhh i'm so beyond frustrated. grrr

Ok so this is creepy. A while ago I was cleaning out my closet and threw away about 4-5 swim suits that didn't fit anymore. I threw them into our patio set box that sat in our garage for a while. Jon and I threw the box into the giant dumpsters down the street from our house about 2-3 weeks ago. Today we were walking through some of the new houses to see what the insides looked like and we went into the upstairs of one of the homes and Jon went into one of the bedrooms and said " Someone left clothes here gross". I walked in and look the clothes and low and behold there were are all my swim suits I had thrown away. I went to pick them up and Jon told me to just leave them so I did. My personal thoughts are someone saw them and were drying them out from the rain we had a few days ago and are going to use them. I think its a little gross. Creepy ahhh

The Merlinator was invented by a man in Bear Lake named....Merlin. It consists of 1 full pound of beef, more cheese than 2 or 3 big macs combined, lettuce, tomato and all the fixins! IF consumed all in one sitting, you are rewarded with a bumper sticker and a your picture hung on the coveted wall along with the other hall of famers. Both Misty and Morgan took on the challenge with nothing but guts and glory in their minds. With every bite they chewed and swallowed, we spectators watched and cheered in awe. All of us were skeptical at first, but Morgan assured us he could handle the beast and Misty repeatedly reminded us of her inner "Chub Scout." At the same time on the east side of the restaurant, a small skinny white guy was attempting The Merlinator only to stall half way through. Needless to say, Morgan and Misty accomplished the challenge with flying colors. In fact, Morgan ordered and consumed a shake after he was done eating, saying he wasn't full enough. WARNING WARNING these pictures are both horrific and terrifying. BEWARE.

My Poor Car

So Saturday night we decided to go to Walmart.. We were inside for only 30-45 minutes we come out load my car up with all the stuff we bought. I'm taking the cart back and when I walk back to my car I froze. Someone hit my freaking car and yes they drove off and didnt leave a note. I cant even express how mad I was. So we went back into the store to see if we could look at the security video, The lady said we would have to call back in the morning to speak to a manager. So Sunday morning I called back they said sorry we cant show you the tapes you have to make a report with the police and they have to request the tapes.. Fine whatever so today I have to go make a report with the police and call my insurance.... Grrrr. I cant even talk about it everytime I do I get so mad... Come on people have some decency if your going to hit my car wait for me to come out of the store or leave a note I know it was an accident I wont be mad..... pictures will follow.

Yesterday we went to the drag races at Rocky Mountain Raceways. When these 7,000 + horse power machines go past you, your eyes literally start to shake while your heart misses a few beats. We were lucky to have Dustin there to explain pretty much everything that was going on. He owns a custom fab shop and he actually worked on a few cars that we saw. I also was able to see my dream bike. It's a Victory Vegas Jackpot. Jessica knew the owner and she let me sit on it and drool ha ha. A big thanks to Jessica, Dustin, Sid, Terry and Tim for inviting us! We had a blast. Here are a few pictures and a video. The song in the background seemed fitting considering we were watching a Jet Engine truck go down the racetrack.

I totally forgot to post how Diesels post surgery visit went! We took him to Dr. Blotter on Saturday morning to get his stitches removed. He LOVES going to the Dr. I know it sounds crazy but he's one of those dogs who loves to see new people and old friends. That is, until he's lifted up onto the operating table. Then it's a whole new ball game. Once he's lifted up about 4 times his own height to the dreaded table, he started to shake and lay down. But the Dr. was able to extract the stitches with no problems. In fact, he said Diesel was the best he's ever seen in that situation. It's pretty scary when you're clear up in the air and a huge metal pair of sheers are coming at your eyes so I don't blame him ha ha. Once he was done we slowly let him down to the floor and he took off running into the lobby area where he likes to pee on the walls. Jeez Diesel! Can't even wait until we're outside you have to mark your territory. Below are some after pictures. I'll need to post some before pictures so you can get the full effect. But those of you who know him know his eyes were pretty much none existant.....until now. LOOK AT THOSE HUGE BROWN EYES!!!

The last few days have been a huge eye opening experience. About a week ago, Aubrey saw an ad on KSL for a free English Bulldog named Daisy. She is 1 and a half years old. The ad said they needed to get rid of her because they already have 2 other dogs and she wasn't getting along with them, namely the girl. Since we don't have a girl dog we thought she would get along with Diesel. Way wrong! We went to meet her and the owners. They said they had a few more people to interview and that they would call us with their answer. A few hours passed and they called to say they really liked us. And the fact that we already had a Bulldog just made it better. They really felt comfortable giving their dog to us. A few days later they brought her over to our house. I had read earlier that when introducing a new dog to the family, for them to meet on mutual ground. So pretty much anywhere but the house. Once they met at the playground area, they did great. Both of them were really excited to see each other. She seemed to be a little dominant but for the most part they seemed happy. After spending a little outside, we headed over to the house. Once inside, Diesel started getting territorial. We couldn't leave them off their leashes without one of them lunging at the other. Diesel for the most part was okay until she started sniffing him. He seemed to get annoyed at that and snap at her. That would cause her to get uncomfortable and snap back at him. After a few hours the owners called us to see how everything was going. As embarrassing as it was to admit, I had to tell him it just wasn't going to work. I explained to him the situation and he sadly agreed that it wasn't the best for Daisy or Diesel. Aubrey took her outside to walk her around. Once the owners pulled up, Daisy jumped in the car so so fast. It was clear she was happy to see people she knew.

It was hard to let her go since we fell in love with her when we first met her, but we know Diesel is happy being the only dog. I'm really glad there are people out there who truly care for their dogs well being. I couldn't be more impressed with the way these owners handled the situation. It makes me so happy. Here is a picture of her we took with our phone. And her name tag we got her.

We're planning on painting our downstairs very soon and the green couches just didn't land a spot in our plan. Out with the old and in with the new. With the economy the way it is, it's a buyers market out there. Deal upon deal presented itself to us with new furniture so we just had to pounce. Normally, Diesel is a regular guest on the couch because he likes to lay on our laps. Poor little guy, just got surgery and now he can't sit with us. But we brought down his bed from our room that he hardly sleeps on so hopefully he'll get more use out of it downstairs. We love the new sectional and couldn't be happier with the end result. Once we paint I'll post pictures :)

Post Surgery Update

Diesel had his surgery. Everything went well so we're very happy. So far he's very very sleepy. When we take him out to go potty he can hardly move around. It's actually kind of funny to see him walk back and forth like a drunk bum ha ha. Some of these pictures may be disturbing to viewers. I had a hard time seeing him for the first time. When we first got there, the vet wasn't there yet, so we ended having to put him in a kennel. Obviously he didn't want to go in so I physically had to lift him (not an easy task) and place him in there. Now we're home and he's just been sleeping which is good. Here are some pictures:

Surgery

Diesel will be going in to surgery Friday morning. His eyelids are bigger than they should be which causes them to roll inward and rub up against his eye balls making them irritated. It's called Entropian. So far the only symptom that it's causing is a very runny eye. His fur all around his eye is completly red from all the liquid and "goo". We are constantly having to rub his eye's which he HATES! Naturally I'm a wreck about the whole thing. This is my little guy and I don't want to have him go through this. But I know it's in his best interest. We're taking off the whole weekend including Friday to be there for our muffinator. Hopefully he won't have to wear one of the great dog fashion wonders, THE CONE. If so, I hope he's as happy as this dog is:

Puppy Update

Well last night was very interesting to say the least. Cole texted me around 11PM stating that Bella had gone into labor. Apparently around 3PM earlier that day he noticed fluids coming out of her body. He said she was having trouble sleeping and that she was making her bed constantly then laying down only to do the same thing a few minutes later. I asked him if he was taking her to the vet. He said they were being born at his place so I was kind of freaking out. A few minutes later he texted me saying he didn't really know what to do. So I went upstairs and woke up Aubrey. We called him and started reading everything we could off the internet about dog breeding. We kept him on speaker and slowly talked him through the process. About a half hour later we hung up the phone and just hoped for the best. I told him he would most likely be going to the vet. I didn't think his female could handle giving birth to all # pups on her own. That's right, I'm keeping you on edge on how many pups she produced.

Around 1:30AM Aub and I fell asleep. Here are the text messages I received later that night:

I was listening to The Arrow 103.5 and heard that Billy Joel and Elton John are coming to town. I'm not into that type of music whatsoever, but if you are, that would be a friggin sweet show.

Speaking of this, Aub and I are going to see Def Leppard, Poison and Cheap Trick. Ya! I can't wait. How lucky are we to see one of the greatest bands of the 80's AND A ONE ARMED DRUMMER! Last year there were so many older 80's bands that came to town and we missed them. We are still kicking ourselves for it. So we making it a point to see as many bands as possible. Eagles are coming and I would go see them but I only know a few of their songs. Again, if that's your type of music that concert would rule! I think it's their last stop on their tour so it would be an even better show. Depeche Mode is playing the same night as Def Leppard. I've seen DM before and they are amaza-zing.

hmmmmmm, so.....Glad it's Friday? eh eh eh?

I should mention that we're doing our backyard very soon and when it's all done, you're all coming over for BBQ and ticki torches!! Hopefully we can get the sod and stone we want for a reasonable price. We live right off of Redwood Road and there are some shops right next to us that sell exactly that.

Ok Em I'll update my blog dog. Um, nothing really too exciting is happening these days at the residence del Foxboro. We're both working very hard lately and I think it's catching up with me because my panic attacks are happening more frequently than I would like. I think now that I have more time on my hands after work I just don't know what to do so I sit and think and that's when they happen. I just need to keep myself occupied with Aubrey and Diesel so I'm not thinking about it. I hate having the attacks but I don't know why they come. When they do, it's like my whole body gets hot and my heart rate goes through the roof until I sit up and walk outside or something. Once I do that, I can usually tell myself to start breathing normally and begin to function again. It really sucks! I feel like I'm a slave to these episodes. So if any of you have any advise or if this is happening to you, let me know so I don't feel like such a dork. And please let me know what you think I should do :)

I can't stop watching the video down below ha ha! I love it when he hits the second baby with the metal object. But again, aside from up above, Aubrey and I are both doing great! Diesel has been gaining TONS of weight because we took him off the Healthy Start stuff and just put him on regular food. I wouldn't be surprised if he weighed 70 lbs! He's such a fatty and we love him so much. Aubrey usually goes to bed before me because I'm a night owl and can't go to bed at a normal time, so when I finally get tired and go upstairs, Diesel is laying just like I would; on his back and head on the pillow. It's hillarious! I feel bad moving him and every time I do he just growns like a little kid. Sooo funny! We were both doing the diet thing earlier this year and were doing really good until we both got sick. People, we were sick for 3 weeks straight. DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH TISSUE WE WENT THROUGH? 1 metric ton worth I'll bet. So we weren't really sticking to the diet because we felt sick and all we wanted was "bad" food. But we're trying to get back on track.

Just so you all know there will be some complaining on this post.
I have had a cold for exactly 2 1/2 weeks words cannot discribe how annoyed and sick of this I am. I have now gotten Jon sick.. but he is being a good sport but honestly who has a cold for this long... Go to the Dr you say???? Well I did yesterday and the Dr. at the Instacare was a dur head because I specifically said I'm allergic to everything in the penicillan family yes all of them. So the Dr tells me " I'm going to give you amoxacillian" duh bells and sirens should be going off I say I'm allergic to that. Seriously shouldn't she have read my chart for allergies duh... Sorry all but I had to vent

So tonight me Jon and my sister Misty went to cheesecake factory to get a piece of cheesecake. On the way home a song was playing it was called Misty Mountain Hop by Led Zeppelin. In Jon's car on the dash it shows who the song is by and the name of the song so this is how the ride home went:

Aubrey- (Puts hand over dash) "Misty who sings this song.."
Misty - "Hmm... I don't know Hmm..." (thinking)
A - "I'll give you a hint. They sing Stairway to Heaven."
M - "Umm...... Guns N Roses?"
A- (laughing hysterically)
M- "What??? Wait No!!! Not Guns n Roses."
A- (Still laughing)
M- "Who is it I know who it is but I dont know ahhh!"

I had to steal this post from the Examiner magazine that's about my former band. Some of you know I have left The Better Life Band to focus on family and work. This post was written by a guy who came to our latest show at the Huka Bar. I thought it would be good to show people what we had acomplished in just over 1 year. ENJOY!!!

The five-piece project known as “The Better Life Band” is anything but another short-lived attempt at a music career. I will be the first to admit that my assumptions prior to hearing a live show were a far cry from what this group actually represented. “The Better Life Band”, fronted by Derek Ashby, showed promise from the start with a solid performance of their song “So Bent” followed up by “If You Believe” and “Selfish Road”. The band then showcased their willingness to take risks by successfully covering songs by top artists such as Bryan Adams, Daughtry, Lit, Collective Soul, 3 Doors Down, and a personal favorite of mine, Breaking Benjamin.

I was more than surprised to see the kind of energy “The Better Life Band” brought to the stage when they performed. I did not expect to see or hear such a dynamic performance, largely brought about by the band’s relentless enthusiasm to get the crowd into their music. Whether it was Ashby handing the mic to fans, Jonathan laying down solid beat after solid beat, or the three-man guitar army of Justin, Joel, and Mike building off one another’s intensity, the crowd was definitely feeling every minute of the February 13th show at The Huka Bar in Murray, Utah.

If the band’s upcoming album proves to be anything like their song, “It’s Your Life”, they undoubtedly have the potential and determination to branch out into the mainstream music scene.
